Underbank Primary School

Parent Council

The role of Underbank Parent Council at Underbank Primary School is to represent parents views whilst working in partnership with the school.  We normally meet twice per term and meetings usually last 1-2 hours.  Typically our agenda will cover discussion or information about wider education developments such as Curriculum for Excellence, anti-bullying policy, school infrastructure/playground and school improvement plan.  The Head Teacher attends all meetings and provides an update on all school matters, for example, school roll, staff changes, budgets and attainment.

A list of our current members is attached below, and you can contact any member in relation to a Parent Council issue.  Please note, we cannot respond to matters concerning individual pupils, these should be discussed with the class teacher or headteacher.

Our constitution (available to down load below) sets out the rules and guidelines we follow in running the Parent Council.  We hold our AGM in the first term of the school year (normally in October), at which there is an opportunity to hear about the work of the Parent Council over the last year and to elect a new Chairperson.  Over the last year we have been fortunate to have parent members to represent each of the primary years and we hope to continue this in the coming year.

At Underbank the Parent Council does not get involved in fund raising activities as we have a separate PFA that does this.
