PFA

The Parents and Friends Association at Underbank Primary School work in partnership with the school to raise funds. This helps to provide the children with the fullest range of educational opportunities.

We do this by:-

• Running *Lucky Numbers* (our monthly fund raising draw)
• Running occasional events (these have included the Christmas Fair, Disco and Quiz Nights).   
• Applying for funding from external sources such as *Awards for All Scotland*.
• Matched company sponsorship

The money we raise will fund activities and resources for the children such as:-

• The Halloween Disco (with prizes and refreshments)
• The class *Wish Lists*
• Assistance with travel (Pantomimes, Sports Events  and School Trips)
• Water Bottles for all children
• The P7 Year Book (A memento of our children’s time at Underbank allowing them to share their memories and hopes for the future)
• The P7 Outing
• New sports equipment
• Travel to sports events
• A Christmas Present for every child
• Significantly supplemented materials for children’s concert (African Extravaganza)
• Supply some training resources for children’s concerts (African Extravaganza, 2009 Homecoming)
• Sports Day at Graham Road (portable toilets are required and were funded by the PFA)
• Playground equipment

We are a mixed bunch of parents and we welcome anyone interested in helping in any way. What we really need is enthusiasm and willingness to help!  We always need occasional willing hands and ad hoc resources.  Please come along to our next meeting if you want to get involved.  If you are unable to come to meetings but are able to help in other ways please get in touch with one of us.
