Our News…

Snaps!

Room 1 have been very busy since our last update.  We are currently finishing off our Toys topic which we had great fun exploring.  We have learnt; how toys are/where made; what types of toys people play with at different times in their lives; what toys people played with in the past and we have even learnt how to build our own toys.  In our class we have had Santa’s toy workshop and a toy shop which we have used as a learning environment.

In maths we have been learning time, shape and addition.  We enjoy maths and are beginning to add bigger numbers.

The primary 1’s have now learnt all of their single sounds and some of their double sounds.  We are becoming confident readers and word builders.  The primary 2’s have been focusing on their sentence building skills and reading comprehension skills.  We all enjoy the different active spelling strategies which we use, but our favourite has got to be... shaving foam!

We are getting ready to move onto our new topic which is ‘People Who Help Us.’  We will hopefully have visits from different interesting people who help us in our community.
