Dear Parents,
Staffing
Further to my previous message, it has now been confirmed that Mrs Armour will leave Underbank on Friday 2nd March. The vacancy will be advertised soon and we will let you know as soon as we have information as to the successful candidate.
We hope Mrs Armour enjoys her last few weeks at Underbank.
Chess Tournament
4 pupils from the after school chess club have been selected to take part in a chess tournament in Hamilton College on Thursday 23rd February. These pupils will bring home a consent form for completing and returning by 17th February. Pupils are asked to bring a packed lunch on and wear school uniform on the day of the tournament. We wish them good luck.
Eco news
Now is the time to start clearing out old clothes and toys!
The Eco committee are organising a Bring and Buy Sale for the afternoon of Friday 2nd March. Please note that this will be toys only, items can be brought in from Monday 27th February.
Our next Rag Bag collection will be on Wednesday 14th March. Old clothes and textiles can be put in the bin in the playground anytime.
After School Clubs
Please note that the block of football coaching has now finished. Thanks to Kate Elliott from Active Schools for organising this activity.
Mrs Crosby will take the after school choir for a 5 week block starting Wednesday 22nd February. On Wednesday 28th March there will be an after school recorder club.
Points System
With effect from 20th February a new points system will be introduced. All staff can allocate points to pupils who show good behaviour, manners, attitude and ability. Each class will have a star of the week which will be announced at the weekly assembly.
World Book Day
For a cost of £1, pupils are asked to come dressed as a favourite book character and there will be a prize for the best costume. Various activities will also be taking part throughout the day.
PFA
Our PFA are looking at ways to spend the funds raised. If any parents have any suggestions on how they would like the money spent please contact the school.
